Firstly i was and am in the pro wilkins camp but overall i just want the best for my/our football club.

yes Dean was a rookie learning his trade but he has done brilliantly this year. Is this the price he has paid for finishing 7TH??

Im a Dick Knight fan and aplaud all he has done for us. i know that he and dean didnt get on personally but he has now well and truly earned his nickname deadly dick and i have noticed a huge groundswell of support for dean here and i really dont expect him to take the number 2 role.

Maybe paul reid's outburst has hit a nerve with him.

You may have made a huge mistake here Mr Knight

I was not in favour of Wilkins being given the job in the first place but the way this seems to have been done is like something from the bad old days. I`m sure I read a piece in the last few days by Knight praising Dean and the work he has done. Then this.

Just as soon as I was 100% happy with the manager being Wilkins this happens. It's just so difficult to comprehend. There must be a real good reason for this that we just don't know about yet.

I've always had the feeling that Adams would return to the Albion. Knight loves Micky and they've maintained close links since Micky left for Leicester. You can imagine Knight wrestling with his conscience about whether to bring him back ever since he became available.

I suspect the money factor has had a big influence in this decision. Poor season ticket sales, the Skint sponsorship ending - something had to give.

That's not strictly true though, is it? We've only got 11 players contracted for next season as things stand. Do you really think Knight will have blown the cash earmarked for replacements on a manager?

My guess is Tony Bloom, the man who funds and runs this club, was not a Wilkins fan. In fact, I've heard as much from enough people to believe it. He wants to put money in, and he desperately wants to see us promoted. But, if he's going to spunk money on players, he wants to give it to a manager he trusts and respects. Wilkins obviously wasn't that man. I'd be surprised if this decision was Knight's, very surprised. And I'd be even more surprised if this results in us signing LESS players for next season. I'd go the other way and say this means a major overhaul of the squad will be Micky's first task.
If this is true and Bloom is pulling the purse strings, it's about time Dick **** f***ed off and let someone else run the club.

THis has shocked me, and I have moved firmly from the pro Dick camp, to the f*** OFF YOU OLD C#NT Dick camp.

And what do you mean by "what are Chapman and Bloom thinking about the turn of events tonight?" Do you not think it was them who DECIDED these events would happen?

Not necessarily. They could have approached Dick with this idea, or Dick could have gone to them with it. And it could be important as to which way round it was.

Scenario 1: Dick wants Micky back, while wanting to keep Dean. So he goes to the board and suggest Plan A. It might have been accepted straight off, or with a few tweaks here and there, they come up with what has been presented tonight.

Scenario 2: One, or more than one, of the directors approached Dick to say, 'we want Dean gone. Sort it out...'

Scenario 3: One, or more than one, of the directors approached Dick to say, 'we want Micky back, and here's how we want it...'

Of course, it's complete conjecture - made up of scary thought in my own tired head and excessive spaghetti in my excessive belly - although I do suspect that the directors have agreed unanimously to this plan (otherwise I'd guess this wouldn't have gone ahead). However, what don't know is just don't know is how willingly or reluctantly they've accepted it.

That's why I asked.
