 People on here read into things that arent said usually hoping to prove you wrong and prove that they know more.

All I am saying is I was told this by somebody who I know to have contacts and I respect that. It could be a load of b....x if that what people wish to believe by all means do so..

I'll take that as a YES then:cool:

Exactly this.

Why have 4 strikers when we only play 1?

With CMS and COG gone, that frees up wages to pay Bent.

Quality not quantity is what's needed.

We have/had too many average players in our squad, and not enough really decent ones.

Last summers transfer window was a bloody disaster.

We can thank Mr Burke for that

The signing of O'Grady was for me a startling realisation that our recruitment process is so utterly flawed. If he had come to us as a free transfer, lets say on a one year deal, on the back of what could be considered one good season out of so many mediocre ones, then we could all just say 'ah well, the gamble didn't pay off'. Yet somehow, somewhere along the line Burke has convinced Tony Bloom that this guy is worth £500,000 and a 3 year deal.

So the fee, including wages, will almost certainly amount to around the £1.2M mark, a sum of money that could have easily covered Barnes's wage demands, a loan for a Murray, Wood or a young Premiership striker. I just do not understand the thinking of the club on this deal.

Careful some on this thread think Burkes signings have been a raging success

At fan forums, and to me personally, our CEO reckons we got "over" a million pounds from you for COG, and he was on £8,000 P/W with us, and due to hitting 15 goals it triggered an increase to £10,000 P/W for this season had he stayed. We were obviously gagging for him to leave, considering a relegation and it's loss of incoming finance. Only Charlton and Sheff Utd came in for the player, the former he couldn't agree personal terms with, the latter couldn't agree on the fee we wanted to be paid. Then out of nowhere you came in and the rest is history.

A couple of our local ITK journo's suggested he was getting £13,000 P/W at The AMEX.

Of course, our CEO could have been feeding us a line, no idea why he would though as he's been very honest and up front in his 18 months in the role. And I fully trust one of the said journo's who is always bang on the money with his stories etc.

Sad that it hasn't worked out for COG. Not that I feel he's had a fair crack down there. But it did seem a strange move/club for him. The fact he's joined our biggest rivals now means I can't help but wish him badly whilst wearing that horrid, immoral club's shirt.

Good luck for the season, and to you all personally over the holiday period. Hope Paddy does better for you than COG.

13 k a week......!!! for **** sake....who is responsible for that bit of business...?? shithouse...!!

Well if you believe the recruitment department supporters, it has to be Hypia, after all we are constantly told that the Manager must have the final say. There can be no blame attached to the recruitment department, they show the manager the DVD's and tell him how much of his player budget it will cost and then that's his decision.
