I think the time has come for Cook to be dropped - he has gone again cheaply. Essex have 3 more county games left and he should go and try and get some runs at that level. His confidence must be shot right now.

I think Carberry should be given a go but the problem is I think they're reluctant to change that much ahead of the ashes and want to have Morgan in the team, so they'd probably have Trott open if Cook's given a 'rest'
