I am happy to be standing here the week before Christmas and saying that we have only had one loss. "

Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper David Stockdale was keen to put matters into perspective following a first league defeat of the season against Middlesbrough on Saturday.

Albion’s 21-match unbeaten league run this campaign was ended with a 3-0 defeat to the Teessiders, but Stockdale remained upbeat after the loss.
*
He told SeagullsPlayerHD, “I am happy to be standing here the week before Christmas and saying that we have only had one loss.
*
“Let’s not focus on the loss, let’s focus on what was nothing short of brilliance to get to this point. People will forget that because we’ve lost now.
*
“We’ll focus on the positives, but we’ll also make sure we nail down these annoying little things that are letting us down.
*
“I’m going to stay positive and the team is going to stay positive. We’ve got to take that losing feeling and make sure it doesn’t happen again."

The shot-stopper admits that the squad have been hampered by injuries to the club’s defensive players, but feels there is enough strength in depth to cope.
*
“I believe in our squad, the gaffer believes in our squad, and why not? We’ve got good quality players coming in and we’ve had a few injuries in the past but shown that we can compete. Players like Kazenga LuaLua are coming back and we’ve signed Richie Towell, who comes here in January.
*
“We’re adding good players and the real test starts now."The 30-year-old feels Albion has now challenged the squad to recapture their undefeated form.
*
"We’ve got to move on and see if we can go on a similar run again. We won’t be having a breather; we’ll be training and working hard, watching videos of ourselves to learn and improve even more.”
