Brighton & Hove Albion have confirmed Simon Rusk as the club's new under-21s coach.
*
Former York City and Crawley Town midfielder Rusk steps up from his role as under-18s coach to succeed Simon Ireland, who recently left to join Queens Park Rangers.
*
Rusk had been covering the role since Ireland's departure, and has now been appointed as his permanent successor.

"He has a growing reputation as an up-and-coming coach, and has been recognised by the Football Association when he was recently called up to assist with England's under-20s.
*
"This is a natural progression for him: he knows the club and our footballing objectives, and has a great knowledge of the younger players coming through."
*
Meanwhile, Joaquin Gomez has left the club. The Spanish coach was promoted from the club's academy by Oscar Garcia and retained as first-team coach by Sami Hyypia last summer.
*
Barber added, "We thank Joaquin for his hard work over the past few years with the academy and first team, and wish him well for his future career."
