Albion manager CHRIS HUGHTON admitted his side lacked a clinical edge in front of goal against Wolves, but praised the work rate of Craig Mackail-Smith.
*
He said, “We had a couple of good chances in the first half and we are finding it difficult at the moment to get the goals that we would like.
*
“We are getting into good enough positions; we might not be as free flowing in that final third as some teams that are scoring a lot of goals, but it is about that quality in front of goal to finish it off.
*
“There is always work to be done, but I was pleased with the majority of what we did on the day.
*
“It is down to quality. There are some real quality finishers in this division, like Chris Martin, who have got that quality, but it is about getting in to the right places at the right time.
*
“Confidence is important, plus, as they showed with their goal today, that little bit of good fortune as well.
*
*“All we can do is keep working. Craig [Mackail-Smith] is somebody who gives us a great running ability at the front, he chases and he puts defenders under pressure and he gives us a good outlet. At the moment he is finding it difficult to add goals to that part of his game.*
*
“First and foremost what you want from a striker is that you want him to be a team player and you want him to give the team something. He is giving us that, but we also want some goals from him. You can’t fault his efforts in trying to do that.”

- HUGHTON: DRAW WAS FAIR
Wolves manager KENNY JACKETT felt that a 1-1 draw was a fair reflection of the game as his side continue to push for a play-off place.
*
He said, “There were a lot of chances in what was I felt an even game.
*
“I thought we grew into the game as we did in the second half and then it was a great save by [David] Stockdale on 95 minutes when [Nouha] Dicko did very well to set up [Bakary] Sako.
*
“And then from the resulting corner Benik [Afobe] couldn’t quite get over the ball for his header. Those are the thin dividing lines but we will take our point away from home.
*
“If you look at Brighton they have won their last three games at home, they have some very good players and their form since Chris [Hughton] has come in has been very good.
*
“Brighton away for us is never going to be an easy game and they have their own reasons to really motivate what was a big crowd.
*
“The Championship is tight and we are just looking to keep working and keep improving to be a force in this division. That is our aim and our aspiration all of the time.
*
“We are pushing for that top six and are still floating around the edge with the possibility of getting in there.
*
*“This point sets us up for two big home games against two good sides coming down to Molineux.“This is a big chance for us and we will look forward to it with everyone pulling together.”
