We made mistakes for both goals, but unless we are scoring goals to alleviate that pressure it makes it tough on ourselves. "
Chris Hughton

Brighton & Hove Albion boss Chris Hughton has told his players he wants them to take the pressure off by getting back to winning ways ahead of two big games in the next eight days. Speaking after tonight's 2-0 defeat to league leaders Bournemouth, the Seagulls supremo has told his players they cannot rely on the teams below them to slip up - and must make certain of safety as soon as possible.Hughton, whose team face Huddersfield at the Amex on Tuesday, before a trip to Wigan next weekend, said, "We have to start alleviating a little bit of pressure on ourselves, otherwise we may find ourselves with no margin for error.
"We made mistakes for both goals, but unless we are scoring goals to alleviate that pressure it makes it tough on ourselves.
"Tuesday is a massive game, and it is a position that we don't want to be in. We wanted to win as many games as possible and we did not want to get into that position where the games get bigger and bigger, and mean more and more.
"That is where we are, and it is only us that can change that; only we can get the results that we need, but if we get a performance like the one that we saw in the first 70 minutes today, then we have every chance of winning, but we have to score goals."

Hughton felt his side were undone by a moment of real quality by Yann Kermorgant, who opened the scoring with a superb free kick - but also felt his side were denied what he saw as a certain penalty with the score at 1-0."For 70 minutes we were very good, but Bournemouth showed why they are where they are and when they had the opportunity through the free kick. It was a great strike, but I am really disappointed because I thought that we put a lot into that first 70 minutes.
*
"I thought that we were very good in the first 20 minutes; we started well and up until their goal on the balance of play I thought that we were the better side.
"Certainly if there was a team that looked more likely to score then it was going to be us, but Bournemouth are top of the table and in that last period where we had to open up a little bit they capitalised on it and showed why they are where they are
*
"The facts are there to see, the last three games we have not scored a goal. We have had opportunities and that we have got into good areas. We got in some good positions today and got close. Dale probably had our best chance in our good period of the game but it remains a concern.
*
"It is normal when you are not scoring goals and that can play on individual's minds. The only thing that we can do is to keep working hard."**

Hughton has one boost ahead of Tuesday's visit of Huddersfield as he welcomes back his skipper Gordon Greer, but could also be sweating on the fitness of Beram Kayal - as he was forced off with a back spasm, midway through the second half.
