English Championship
December 29, 2013
Blackpool 0 Albion 1
Inigo Calderon’s first half strike boosted Albion’s play-off hopes in their first win at Bloomfield Road since September 2000. The Seagulls started the game brightly as Leonardo Ulloa twice went close before curling the ball against the post. Albion’s dominance paid off when Calderon found space and shot low beyond Matt Gilks to open the scoring. Blackpool showed a renewed vigour early in the second half with Dan Gosling and Tom Ince both going close.* Albion almost killed the game off late on through Kazenga LuaLua but again the woodwork rescued the Tangerines. It mattered little though as Calderon’s goal proved enough to separate the sides.

Football League Division Two
December 29, 2001
Blackpool 2 Albion 2
Albion dominated the first half proceedings and almost took the lead in the 17th minute, however Nathan Jones was unable to convert Lee Steele’s cross. Steele soon fired Albion ahead though, with a superb goal in the 21st minute. Jones made up for his earlier miss when he doubled Albion’s lead, crashing the ball home from the underside of the bar, following a cross from Charlie Oatway. The second half was different story entirely as Blackpool dominated and pulled a goal back ten minutes in through Ian Hughes. Blackpool were then awarded a penalty in stoppage time however Simon Royce pushed his effort onto the post. The Seagulls thought that had won the game but Blackpool attacked for the final time and Lee Collins hit a 25-yard equaliser with the last kick of the game. Albion went onto complete back-to-back league titles by topping the Division Two table at the end of the season.

Football League Division Three
September 12, 2000
Blackpool 0 Albion 2
In difficult conditions at Bloomfield Road both sides struggled to come to terms with the wind in the opening exchanges. Albion eventually found their stride and took the lead through Paul Rogers who fired home from 15 yards out just after the half hour mark. The Seagulls doubled their lead right on the stroke of half-time when Gary Hart curled home from just outside the box. Blackpool had the wind in their favour in the second half however Albion’s defence restricted them to long-range strikes for the majority of the game as the Seagulls recorded their first clean sheet of the season.
