Albion’s development squad maintained their play-off push with a 2-1 victory at their rescheduled fixture against Colchester United. The game saw both sides struggling to maintain possession but Luke Williams' squad ground out a victory to ensure they remain unbeaten in 2012.
Yaser Kasim gave Albion the lead within five minutes before the hosts pegged the Seagulls back before the break.
But substitute Brennan Dickenson cut back for striker Torbjorn Agdestein in the second half who finished to give Williams’ side the win.
And after the game the development squad manager admitted his side were far from their usual standards but was pleased to see his side's determination.
He told seagulls.co.uk, “We were not at our best, it was more of an English type of game than you normally see with us. Both teams gave the ball away too often but we came up with two goals and they came up with one, and that was the difference.
“But when a team is playing well, and we haven’t lost since December 3rd, you come up with all sorts of ways and we have had some performances where we have been very much in control. Then some where we have been a little bit indifferent but we have been winning, or drawing at worst, so we will take that.
“We scored another goal from a corner which is pleasing, it shows the boys have taken things on board and are making things work.”
Albion: (4-3-3) Smith (GK); Barry, Jones (Rea 67), Battipiedi, Hunt; Richards (Asmundsson 82), Ince, Kasim; Agdestein, Oatway, Goodwin (Dickenson 57).
