Over the years, several players have moved between Brighton & Hove Albion and Lewes.
These include Solly March; who began as a young prodigy with Lewes and made a solitary first team appearance in the seventh tier of English football, before signing a three-year contract with the Albion in November 2011.March has since gone on to make 27 first team appearances, after producing a number of impressive displays for Simon Ireland’s under-21 side.
Another player who has also made the switch is Steve Brinkhurst. Brinkhurst never made a senior appearance for Albion and joined Eastbourne Borough to play under Garry Wilson.
After two years and 88 appearances, he re-joined Lewes, the club which he had made his senior bow for during two spells on loan from the Seagulls, and was eventually re-united with his former Eastbourne manager when he took charge in May 2013 after the dismissal of Simon Wormull.
Another player who recently joins this list is Gary Elphick. The older half of the Elphick brothers who both once played for Brighton (Tommy is currently playing at Bournemouth) was released at the end of the 2005-06 season and is one of eight new summer signings for Lewes.

Elphick only ever made two first team appearances for the Albion, playing once, 18 and three times for Eastbourne, St Albans City and Aldershot respectively whilst on loan. He scored twice at St Albans and just once in his single game for Eastbourne.Elphick then went back to the club for which he had starred for in his loan spell, St Albans. He went on to play 86 times, bagging 7 goals. After being named their player of the season in his only full year with the club, he joined Havant and Waterlooville in 2007.
He managed to clock up a very respectable 75 appearances in a season-and-a-half at the Hampshire club, finding the net 10 times.
The defender then moved back to Borough, where he had previously netted his first ever senior goal, playing 79 times and scoring seven times.
Then, after spending less than a year at his new club Eastleigh, with only 19 games to his name and one goal, he joined Tonbridge Angels in an ultimately unsuccessful move, making just seven appearances over two years and scoring once.
Elphick will link with his father and life time member, Gary Senior, who has been a player, manager and coach at the Dripping Pan.
The centre-back’s recent arrival has delighted Lewes backroom staff and fans alike, as manager Garry Wilson branded Elphick as "one of the biggest signings for Lewes in a while".
