Liam Bridcutt told of his joy after Albion’s late win over promotion rivals Hull City.Vicente rose from the bench to score the winning goal in the 84th minute, reigniting Albion's play-off hopes, and Bridcutt admitted the three points were vital.
He told seagulls.co.uk, “It’s a massive win and the type of result we have been waiting for. Today was a massive game for us as we knew we had to win and we have gone out and done that.
“You could see from the celebrations what it meant because we have not had the best results recently, but we knew before the game that we had to win no matter what, and we are delighted that we have.
“And Vicente makes the difference. When he comes on or when he starts he has the quality to kill teams, and he has come on today and done what he does best."
With Gordon Greer injured, Bridcutt was made captain for the day and the former Chelsea man confessed he was surprised to get the nod.
“It was a bit of a shock; the gaffer pulled me in today and told me but it was a great honour. The gaffer puts a bit of trust in me and he has today by making me captain.
“Every game you will see me shouting but there are many leaders on that pitch and there were many of them out there today.”
