Brighton - In your face
The thing that ****s me off about this is what kind of motivation is this for the players going into a play off match. I can't accept that Oscar was giving his all to the play offs.

So that's two play off attempts ****ed by managers distracted by other things.

Once is unlucky, two makes you wonder what the hell is going on.

We (now) have a vacancy that only coaches by moving a small squad around a pitch. After a while that's not going to attract many managers. Hopefully the new training ground is a pull.

Brighton factually.....
Thanks Oscar, sad he has gone, but not the end of the world....

Reason why he left, could be the budget, could be the board or it could be his trouble and strife is not digging the English weather during winter and is home sick. The Albion will survive.... And boy doesn't it give us something to talk about all close season now....

Fair to say I'm gutted. The only positive is that in a x number of years when is top man at Barca, we can say he learnt a few things here.

Hope the club don't take the short term approach of getting a man in just to get promotion and damn the youth team and playing style that now goes through the club

I have to agree, we have to be realistic and get a manager for the long haul. Some of the names mentioned, would use us as a stepping stone. Get Brighton to the play offs, then leave after we lose.

All the Derby fans say it was Nigel Clough who brought the youngsters through and they talk very highly of him and he took over Sheffield United when the were in the relegation zone and nearly made the play offs and a good cup run. Think we should stop all this fancy stuff bringing in fancy names and go for a young British manager.

How long is it going to take to appoint a successor?

Still Somewhere in Sussex!
as long as we don't get Moyes

David Moyes has had tremendous experience managing on a "bugger-all" budget with Everton

Give him £50 mill. With Man.U. and he struggled!:wink:

Oscar Garcia has written the following open letter to the club's fans:
Dear Supporter,

I would like to thank the Brighton & Hove Albion fans for their tremendous support throughout the past year. I have been proud to be the head coach of your club.

Yesterday, we gave it our best. We didn’t have the best of luck, but regardless we were simply beaten by the better team. Overall, when all things are considered, particularly our terrible luck with injuries both yesterday and since the very start of the season, I think it has been an excellent year for the club.

The Championship is undoubtedly one of the most challenging leagues in the world. It is highly competitive and it is made up of a wide range of clubs with very different budgets. Parachute payments for eight of the clubs in the league and new Financial Fair Play rules make it even harder. Despite these issues, I feel we have performed well.

As such, I am incredibly proud of the players - they have given everything for me, the club, and you, our fans. I have also been pleased to have been able to help a number of the club's young players develop and progress into the first team, and I hope they will play many, many games for Brighton & Hove Albion in the future.

I would also like to thank staff at the club. The club has a tremendous group of people at all levels – both at the training ground and in the stadium, who care passionately about the Albion and who are desperate for the club to succeed and to progress further. They too have made me very proud.

Finally, I would like to thank Tony Bloom for giving me this opportunity; and especially Paul Barber, for his support; I have enjoyed a close working relationship with Paul during my time in Brighton.

I have enjoyed my first experience of English football, and I would like to wish Brighton & Hove Albion and the fans of the club the very best for the future. The club will always have a place in my heart and I hope very soon they will be competing at the top level in English football.

Oscar Garcia

So, nothing by way of an explanation then?

Excellent news. Now we can look for a proper manager who understands English football and comes with a personality.

I don't think I have ever, in 50 years of supporting the Albion, liked a manager less.

My thoughts entirely. And although Derby were superb yesterday, we were out played tactically by McLaren who you may remember got Middlesborough relegated and had a disastrous spell as England manager as well. I particularly remember our 3- 0 win against Charlton when we seemed to send out a team of ten individuals playing for themselves rather than as a team. I think OG has done the decent thing and fallen on his sword, so to speak, rather than struggle on tactically bereft.

We were the better team at home and played with three full backs in defence because of more injuries yesterday

So a guy who got us into the playoffs despite far from perfect circumstances has left and apparently this is cause for celebration?

Sometimes I really don't get how people's minds work. God help the next one if he happens to be foreign, there'll be 'xxxx out!' threads by the end of the day.

The club like the "Coach" approach.I think this will not help,in appointing British...........except Sherwood (and He is more outspoken than Poyet)

Gutted :( as for a replacement I think we could do a lot worse than Giggs and crew, not sure how feasible that is. I don't fancy Sherwood at all.

I'd be absolutely delighted with Eddie Howe but doubt he'd leave Bournemouth.

Hmmm, you mean like that Toko Nzuzi bloke there was a thread about a couple of days ago?

I have no idea who he is?! I was just thinking we need more physicality and strength in the team instead of players with hamstrings made of jelly or the tackling ability of my 7 year old. Fitter and more consistent versions of Rohan Ince and younger versions of Matt Upson are what I mean.
