The Browns just cannot get out of their own way, that QB room is a mess now and Dillon Gabriel will probably be looking for a trade now. It is a circus. As a Commanders fan I am almost getting PTSD flashbacks to Snyder's toxic ownership when I see what is happening in Cleveland and I really for the fans there having to deal with this sh*tshow right now.

Pleased with the Giants draft, we had so many areas to fix.

Hoping to win more than 3 games….
Annoyingly for us you had a great draft. If you can start scoring more than 20 points a game then the Giants may well be starting to turn themselves around as that D just looks frightening. The NFC East looking to return to its NFC Beast status after years of being the NFC Least.

.... Maybe we should go for Sanders in the next round? Get another mis-firing QB to replace the sex pest?

I'm glad I'm not this negative about the Albion! :lolol:
I was joking, ..... I WAS JOKING!

Of course we've signed him. Typical bloody Cleveland, no wonder they call us the 'Clowns'. Hopefully he'll prove to be a huge success and I'll have to eat humble pie, but history suggests otherwise.

Why did it have to be Sanders.......urgh. 😏
So, not only do we get him & his inflated ego, but the circus around his dad as well - who Ive always thought was a nob, too.

Why do you do this to me Cleveland? Every fkn year it seems.
Do you know how many QBs have started a match for Cleveland since 1999? .... Forty. The next-nearest franchise for QB-starters in the same time frame (dunno who it is) has thirty.

Once everyone had stopped laughing at a typical Cleveland decision, I did read an article which said that if they had taken him at the top of the draft, the cost and all the hassle that goes with QB as high draft picks would have been ridiculous.

Taking him as a 5th round pick where his contract will be significantly lower, he will have to fight for a place on the roster. If it turns out he is as good as he (and his Dad) thinks he is, then the Browns have someone they can quietly develop for a year without so much of a spotlight.

If he is a bust, they release him at very little cost when the final rosters are announced and can look at next year where they predict a better class of QB will be available.

Much as we all like to laugh at the Browns, this could end up being a very shrewd bit of business

Saved themselves $40M apparently

Yes, I can see the logic in that. But it's Cleveland! I cannot believe logic played any part in it.

Anyone got any views on Shadeur Sanders?
Apparently his team meetings went awful, he turned up unprepared, and was easily rattled when they called him out on it. On the flip side, Cam Ward apparently had an answer for every bad play, what he did wrong, what he would do differently etc.

Shedeur has WR attitude, which is never good in a QB.

The Commanders are going home to DC. Not going to lie I was actually a bit emotional watching the press conference yesterday. The Harris Ownership has been set on restoring Washington to its old self since minute one of his tenure.

We may no longer be the Redskins but I feel the Commanders are now building their own identity (and I am now ok with this slightly naff name). Returning to DC is absolutely huge in bringing back as much of our old identity as is possible. I expect the next uniform change will go even further in this regard.

A huge $3.6bn dollar. The stadium part of the development will cost $2.7bn and Harris is paying for it. The District's contribution will be the rest paying for the surrounding infrastructure which the city would be on the hook for regardless of what was to be done with the RFK site.

Absolutely buzzing for this, Trump should be ousted by the time it get built so hopefully I will finally get to visit.

Been supporting this team since 1983 and this is the best I have felt since 1991. Been a long time but the suffering since our last successful era but it finally feels worth it.

It is possible to turn around a basket case, embarrassment of a franchise so I hope we can provide some hope for the long suffering fans of all the other malfunctioning franchises on this board.

National Football League GIF by Washington Commanders

Always had a soft spot for Washington since those halycon days in the 80s with Theismann, Monk, and the hogs etc. Our Old English Sheepdog was even called Riggins, as my brother in law supported the Redskins.
Great news, and I hope the next uni change isnt too far in the future.

Nightmare.
I read a few more things, such as one team (allegedly the Giants) gave him some playbook material to read and prep in advance of his interview with them. A fairly standard procedure apparently. Come the interview, he hadn't even looked at it.

At this point in time, I hope Flacco, Pickett, & Gabriel have outstanding training camps, and Sanders flops.
Why do we always seem to like carrying around excess baggage with players?

From Manziel to Watson to Sanders.

In recent years, it's like the Browns have an attraction to having at least one problematic QB on their roster.

And when you've got an egotistical domineering father who's trying to relive his life vicariously through his child, it rarely ends well for all concerned.

Because we're Cleveland. I said in an earlier post that despite @thedonkeycentrehalf's excellent analysis logic played no part in the signing. He's a 'name' so Haslam wanted him, anything to deflect away from the continuing stench of Watson.
