Not yet, will look out for it this week end. I'm pleased to see the winter sesonals appearing now. and clearing out the autumn pumpkin ales which i find a little sweet and and/or spicy for my taste.

Yes - I'm not a great fan of the pumpkin ales. They started off as a bit of a novelty and then suddenly there were hundreds of them.

An interesting night out for me in Krakow yesterday. A youngish Polish office group on a night out to say goodbye to a leaving colleague.
A couple of pints of a dark Czech beer from Krusowice in a Czech/Argentine restaurant.
Followed by some sort of a vodka shot in a small bar with Leicester City and MCFC scrawled on the walls in the toilets.
Onto the trendy part of town, where we hit a bar plastered in Brewdog paraphernalia, along with a large selection of the world's greatest beers. Sadly this did not include a single Polish beer, so I drank a Belgian geuze on draught.
From there onto somewhere else with a Narnia style wardrobe door, which revealed the second half of the pub and things were getting more complicated, so I just asked people to bring me a dark style beer.
There was talk of trying some hot beer, flavoured with fruit that is popular with the local winter sports enthusiasts, but I had to duck out at this point, to preserve my head for an early start today. A great bunch of people to be out with and a really enjoyable night in a fun city. If I sound a little half hearted it is just that this mirrors something we have been through in the UK. A feeling that our own food & drink were not good enough, so we simply borrowed all the things we liked from the rest of the world. The results can and have varied from fantastic to mediocre to total crap, but I think there should always be a corner for "and these are some of the fantastic traditional things we have from our village/town/region/country" even if they don't come in shouty brightly coloured bottles.

I'm with you on this.
Interesting. I had a chat with a German friend about this a while back. A lot of bars I frequent are a bit ramshakle and allow graffiti and without doubt I can always find some crap English football team scrawled on the wall.....bizarrely often in biro.
As an aside and in keeping with this thread I also go to a rather nice bar (which is not a rock bar......this will make sense if you can translate the name) called "Ick koof mir Dave Lombardo, wenn ick reich bin" and they have graffiti from The Camden Brewery on the wall.
Refreshingly British.

Some interesting brews on that list HT.
Here is the list from Whole Foods in Vienna, Virginia, this week. The black rye IPA and the DC Corruption IPA stand out for me, although there is a nice balance to this collection now that the autumn seasonals are dropping off.
Brooklyn Lager - an old, dependable favorite
Southern Tier Creme Brulee - Pudding or desert!
Schlafly Pumpkin Ale
Wild Wolf Wee Heavy Scoth Ale
Crispin - cider!
Firestone Walker Wookey Jack Black Rye IPa - tasty

The stand out from that list is Southern Tier Creme Brulee. I had this in Brighton last year; a very very nice stout from a great brewery. And I agree about Brooklyn; they do some very dependable beers esp the lager and the EIPA. I know a place which stocks these in Berlin and they get a visit every so often when I am tired of the local brews.

Thanksgiving today. Key dinner menu items! Loose Cannon IPA probably not the best pairing with turkey, but it will work for me!

An interesting night. I got to sample most of the beers on offer including the glorious oatmeal coffee stout made with Kopi Luwak coffee (look up how this is 'made'). The hoppy pilsner kicked off the night, then it was a journey through the pales, the lambics and ending with the stout. I'm going back tonight to fill the gaps. Aside from Mikkeller Brewdog were represented as was Vagabund Brauerei, The Bird plus I spotted Thorsten Schoppe from Schoppebraeu enjoying a cheeky craft beer in a corner.

Went to the Wandering Goose in Worthing tonight - top notch IMO. Lovely pint of Meantime's Yakima Red, and took a couple of bottles home with me too. Definitely worth a nose if your in the Worthing Area - and I can see it being rammo in the summer with their outdoor bierkeller style tables.

I went there Friday night, absolutely packed.
The tapas dishes compliment the quality beers, and with the stunning Punk ipa at a modest 4 pound a pint, I went off to see The Blockheads and wiggled my rhythm stick in a happy mood.

Your right about the prices - sub £8 for a pint of the Yakima and a Punk IPA is ridiculous value. They should have gone for a bigger venue IMO - not much bigger mind, but 40 odd people in there and it's feeling like a bit of a pinch!!!!
