Sheffield United update:

2008/2009

Finished 7th after losing to the SCUM on the last day of the season, missed out on goal difference.

The club then went into financial meltdown, Chairman had to put in £6m to help keep the club afload. At the end of the season I had to cut my wage bill by £50k, and was forced to sell Costa (£2.5m) and Cotterill (£1m).

2009/2010

Making a solid start, with 8 points from the first 4 games. Beat Cheaterfield in the 1st round of the Carling Cup, but lost at home to Leeds:down:

It's coming up to the end of the season, 6 games left.
Leeds are top and we are second but well clear of Leicester in third.
I'll confirm our Championship status a little later when it happens!
Seagulls!

Somewhere over there...
I finished my 3rd Season 1 point outside the playoffs in League 2 with Wrexham.

In my 4th season I have signed Dean Cox and Steven Thomson to join Adam Hinshelwood and Jake Robinson who I had signed in previous seasons.

I havent really been able to add to my squad this season as im heavily in debt.

My best player by a mile is Darryl Duffy who has attracted offers from Championship clubs but he refused to join them :)

After four games I am 8th with 7 points and got knocked out of 2nd round of League Cup at home to West Ham losing only 1-0 (I beat Nottingham Forest at home in the first round)

Another two results to report;

Wrexham 2-1 AFCW
AFCW 4-0 Stafford Rangers.

4 games gone, and i have 4 juicy blue square prem points.

Just looking at the BSP table from the previous 2 in game season and 20th place (lowest u can come without going down) stayed up with 49 points & 50 points.

f*** knows where the other 46 points are going to come from!:lolol:

My end of first season report.

Had a great season, winning the JPT and finishing 2nd in the league.

Top performers overall:-
Lynch - 7.32
Whing - 7.30
Murray - 7.25
Virgo - 7.21
Cox - 7.19

Top goal scorers:-
Murray 30(2) 24
Robinson 39(7) 22 (he did play a few on the wing)
Forster 15(13) 12
Virgo 50(3) 11 (used him as a target man for Robinson to feed off when Murray was out.)
Cox 27(14) 11 (from midfield)

Worst striker:- Fowler 15(14) 3

Main formation was an attacking 4-4-2, playing with fast wingers on the counter, defending tight and paying careful attention to each and every opponent to minimalise thier scoring chances. The best side i had all season was probably:-

Kuipers
Whing Virgo Elphick Lynch
Livermore Kouakou
Cox Sassi
Murray Robinson

Star signing:- Mossaab Sassi, signed on a free in January (on £500 p/w), the fans love him and he plays well above his stats. He's an 18 year old Tunisian international and i'm hoping a wonderkid! Played- 12(4) Scored 5 with 5 assists.

Spent most of the transfer money on getting a decent coaching set up and bought a few young kids from here and there for the future. The team has responded well with the new staff and customised training schedules, as you can see by the season we had. Had a few loans in but not really much of any note. It was the back 4 that held it together for me.

I've been playing these kind of games for as long as i can remember and i can quite honestly say that this is the best opening season i've ever had.

Next season...
Ive got a couple of players that i can sell to make a little extra transfer money now as i'm well aware that the team i have taken into the championship will struggle. It's going to be a busy summer and i'm hoping to build a squad to achieve a safe mid table position.
I'll post again before the start of the season.

Well I had a disappointing first season to say the least, finishing 18th :'(

My team now just started pre season

GK: Kuipers/Button (Spurs parent club)
RB: Stephen Carr
CB: Lynch/Virgo/Hinsh
LB: Billy Jones
LM: Demontagnac
CM: Livermore/Prutton
RM: Cox
ST: Ormerod
FC: Noel Williams

Need a creative CM I feel, but with no wage budget to spare I don't know how I can sign anyone.

Last season I lacked goals and only Noel Williams scored any really with 9 after January. Murray and Fowler were shit and Forster was utterly shit.
Freddie Lyungberg won signing of the season, only for DK to accept an offer of 425k from Stoke, of which I get 40k to spend.
Managed to get rid of Fowler to Gillingham for nothing.

I don't know how you do it JC.

This thread is STILL killing me. But I just have to keep reading it.

For those that don't know, my laptop broke down the day before FM came out and is still away being fixed.

Gutted is the only word.

Got SACKED with Brighton on mine, even though I was 10th with about 10 games to go, I was to far into the red. So couldnt be bothered to look for another job, so just started again, this time with Burton Albion:thumbsup:
