They were talking about this yesterday. Apparently because its an external blow that is visible (not sure why thats significant) even if he leaves the field he can bat in his normal position. All to do with when you get an injury, how long you are off the field etc.
SA can't win this game now - even though there have been ODI scores that are bigger, and with less overs, you can set such defensive fields in a test and bowl so defensively that if England had to they would (remember Zimbabwe a few years back against us?)
With all the injuries we have had I think that batting on for a bit longer than expected is with the next test match in mind. We need our bowlers fresh. I think if we don't get early wickets I think you'll see Harmy and Freddie rested and play out the day with Gilo etc. May be a good chance for Anderson to bowl himself into form with no pressure.
It's very much ON now, Kallis was the big one. It's all about putting GIbbs under the pressure. If we can get him in the next hour the game is as good as won.
