The Zamora bar :lolol: Avoid that one full of transvestites. Around the Olympic village there are some very good restuarants and bars, also the Gothic quarter for bars and pubs.

The Ramblas is typically touristy with prices being a bit higher for obvious reasons. Some areas of Barcelona can be a bit dodgy after dark so keep your wits about you.

I found cabs the best way to get around, but if you can't speak spanish they can be a tad hard work so all we did was buy a few cheap postcards of where we wanted to go and pointed at them, typical brits abroad!

Near the bottom of La Ramblas, on the left as you go down. Los Caracoles, in Escudelleres 14. 'Phone no. is 93 302 3185.

Top, top restaurant. You won't regret a visit there.

"old bastards" like you dave (and me for that matter) will love the restaurant Set Portes (i think that's how you spell it) which is in barcelonetta. fantastic restaurant, not too expensive and an old favourite of frederico garcia lorca the republican poet. highly recommended.

Does that mean I have to take temporary charge of NSC Albion again?
