Are you having a competition with Dave the Gaffer to see who can start the most threads about themselves?

Goede Reis, Sunday is Queens Day (celebration of the life of the queen, not ...well never mind), something like a third of the Dutch population go to Amsterdam for the day to party till they can't stand up.

I went to Amsterdam for Queens Day in 1990, went on one of those pleasure boats on the canals, stood up a bit quickly and smacked my head on the roof. Following this my eye-sight went downhill (nothing to do with Canal Straat), I was diagnosed with a detached retina a few weeks later, had an operation to save my eyesight and spent 6 weeks off work, including the whole of the World Cup, what a result!!!

As I remember I critisied Afters for getting a cab from Brighton Station to Hove instead of getting a Hove train or connection from Brighton however we do budget so as to enable ourselves at least one exotic holiday per year hope this clarifies

Wonderful place. I have some sort of vague and warm recollections of my stag weekend there. Amsterdam that is, not Brighton. Nor Hove. Nor the Caribbean.

If only we could all be as rich as you Hove b&b. You really are my idol. Your life must be so full and satisfying.
