“That's a real opportunity. Edouard goes for the side-foot and gets it all wrong. A huge chance.”

Sounds like he’s already been working with our shooting coaches.

My first game which I can "remember" was watching from the West Stand when we lost 2-8 to Bristol Rovers and it was on telly. The next game was we lost 0-4 to Walton and Hersham in the FA Cup replay.
How we have moved on from those days is incredible, hence talking about signing a 20mm striker, I remember us signing Andy Ritchie for 500k and it made my day.
If this all off topic my apologies.

Good job putting "remember" in quotes. The Walton & Hersham FA Cup replay was in the midweek before the Bristol Rovers game. But you're right that we've moved on from the days of Ken Beamish and Ronnie Howell.

It’s not only this example, but he’s very self-important. In this case: ‘Oh, the mere suggestion that someone would tell me what to do is so preposterous’. I also don’t think he’s ever written anything remotely interesting, but that’s another matter.

Without commenting on his writing... Having worked ten years as a journalist when I was young and handsome, I can safely say that it's pretty much the worst insult there is.

From what I can tell of The Athletic, it's not Naylor's job to write "anything remotely interesting". The people they have covering individual clubs are either ex-local paper lags or - if they couldn't get them - kids fresh out of journalism schools. If they had wanted better writers, there are several candidates who are Albion fans. He is there because they assume he has good contacts at the club he covers. So naturally he has to be cautious because if he gets a big transfer stories wrong I don't imagine it will go down too well with his bosses.

Didn't think he'd score in Norway, especially as the BBC says there playing in Denmark.

Ulloa's is still coming down. This could be a long shot and could be goal of the century?

he is making good runs behind the defenders but not getting picked out and the frustration when he doesn't get ball is clear to see

These aren't the players you're looking for.

He's obviously better than he's shown tonight, which has been a very underwhelming impression of Jurgen Locadia.

Thank God we're not in for him.

Let's hope Palace get thier fingers burnt with this one.

If “laconic” covers him I’m IN. Back in Murray’s early days the lack of headless chicken running around from Murray infuriated a fairly large section of Albion fans The surly lazy Northern *******. Abuse from the terraces rained down on him, especially at away games we were losing.

The fondly remembered Kit Napier used to get the same.

Really?! This whole thread stinks of desperation! And all for a player who, whilst his movement and touches look good in the MTL, ultimately has scored less goals than Maupay did for Brentford in a stronger division.

And the delusion is pretty evident in some of the very funny theories put forward by people who have no real knowledge of the workings of transfer dealings but are apparently desperate for this to happen for some reason.

And crackpot conspiracy theories? Check out the poster who thinks our board are just trying to drive up the price for Palace to overpay!

I hope the thread carries on, it's a bit of pre-season light entertainment.

I take it you haven’t watched Moneyball then

Never forget how good Duffy was for us in the promo seasons and under CH, when he scored 3 own goals and got a red card in his two games prior to moving to us that season :lolol: don't worry about a one game snapshot of Edouard, his CV is impressive and we'll be lucky to have him.
