brighton, actually
ok, i've been in my new job for near on 4 months now, and the contract come up for review shortly..

good pounts- the supervisor seems to like wht i am doing (kind of person who would let you know soon enough, if you wern't), and they did give me some beer and choca for covering the phones while most of hem went on the piss (er, a team building day..)

1 lady is due to go on materniy (its not mine!) leave soon, and a couple always seem to be on the sick, so the rest of us are always busy..

bad points?
2 small hiccups, due to duff/missing info was sorted asap, and nothing heard about that since (probably just sales people, huffing and puffing, close to the month end,,)

overall- i want to stay. i think my boss woud like me to stay.

anyone been in a similar situation? most people at the firm came from similar businesses, or got tajen on after temping, so i give it a 70% yes..

Its a pain in the ass to select, interview and then train up a replacement so you should be ok with just an average performance.

It sounds promising. I had a 12 month contract which finished 2nd March and was given another year's contract with just a week to go. As cheeseroll says it is a pain to recruit someone and train them. Keeping someone on who has overall been a good worker would seem the best solution.

I think you will be fine as stated by others the issue is to re-train someone else which takes time and costs money.

You sound fine. A Chops endorsement never did anyone any harm.

Means the contract won't be renewed - bad luck

I was told in my current job my original 4 month contract wouldn't be extended and had a similar situation as you when it was near expiry. Ive now been at the company 3 years and have a permanent contract! Im sure you'll be fine
