The concept is that a town in Mid-West U.S. holds prisoner anyone who unwittingly enters the area. Then there are other creepy night-dwellers who try to feed off the prisoners after tricking them into letting them into their houses.
It’s a classic fear-of-the-unknown suspense show with undertones of Lost (as no-one knows what’s going on and it also stars Harold Perrineau to re-enforce the Lost connection).
After a few people get eaten some more people drift in to fill the character gap and create new plot variations. Rinse and repeat the cycle.
I‘ve been a bit glib with the description there and it is actually better than I’ve made it sound as it is well filmed, acted and it isn’t predictable.
Edit - I knew I wouldn’t be the first to mention it and I now that see this was debated around Feb 2024 and post#1850 (with similar analysis of it).
