The insider said this yesterday.

At the moment Charlie doesn't want to pencil in a return date, as he was disappointed at not making it back for Christmas. However he is progressing well, having had further surgery and I'm sure we'll see him back in the stripes very soon.

Starting to sound like the endless "updates" we used to get on Simon Rodger, along the lines of "he's started training". Soon became clear we'd never see him play again.

Certainly hope that's not true for Charlie but I'm a miserable pessimist.

Doubt he would make the starting 11 but would make a useful sub

I agree, he could make them for Butters & Malcolm

I think his days at the club are numbered.

Saw him getting leathered in the Liquid Lounge in Worthing about a month ago so training must be in full swing.

We have had awful luck with players having to retire early recently

Ben Roberts
Dean Blackwell
Simon Rodger
John Piercey

I hope that Charlie does not add to that

Even if his playing days are over,I think he would stay with the Albion in another role perhaps?

I still get very angry when I think of that "tackle" that did the damage. I would personally love to bump into that QPR wanker & kick the living shit out of him.

Charlie has done so much for our club, on & off the pitch. In my eyes, Albion Legend.

I think if he is fully fit he will push El Abd for that spot. El Abd may be needed more at the back anyway as our squad of defenders is looking thinner by the week.

Bignot didn't even get a card did he!?

I echo your sentiments, Smudge.
