What, in your opinion, are the worst songs of all time ?

To kick things off I'd like to nominate

1. Imagine - John Lennon

2. Another Brick in the Wall - Pink Floyd

3. absolutely anything by Queen.

In musical terms Imagine is a tuneless dirge.

In moral terms someone driving around in a roller seeing how much of Manhattan they own and then singing "imagine no possessions" can go f**k themselves.

and that daft chicken thing people do at weddings....

I'd rather listen to Clingons on the Starboard bow frankly...

Star Trekking - now there's a song to get your uncool uncle on the dance floor at weddings, shaking his arms around as he wiggles it (just a little bit) in a desperately unfunny attempt at 'comical' dancing as a result of a few too many Gins.

Oh, hang on - that was me.

Falmer, soon...
The worst song ever? Tricky.
Some do have some musical merit. Even Renee & Renato despite its clear cheesiness isn't a genuinely bad song. Likewise, despite it's cringeworthiness, that woeful "I've had the time of my life" dirge from Dirty dancing isn't tunefully a bad song

A lot of the above do p!ss me off too, but that's more through overplay than any judgement based upon the songs themselves.

So I'd probably say;

Bananrama - It Ain't what you do

3 talentless singers an annoyingly catchy melody and it wasn't even trying to be kitsch or a bit of a laugh. Terrible stuff.

You've put worst there when I'm sure you must mean best. The WORST songs are

1. Love Shack - B52's
2. Any Bloody R&B
3. All those so solid crew songs.

If there's a worse song than 'There's no-one quite like Grandma' by the St Winifrids School Choir, featuring that stupid bint with a lithp trying to get the sympathy vote, then I've never heard it.

Other very strong contenders are that Frog Song by McCartney, and Cliff Richard and all the women's tennis munchers singing 'Summer Holiday' at Wimbledon that time.

What Joe Dolce's 'Shadappayour face' is doing on this list is anyone's guess, likewise Love Shack.
