The thing I hate is when Mums say "But he'll only eat chips". You mean your kid gets into the car, goes to the supermarket, hands over his money, comes home and fries them up himself? No, you do it. It's your fault. You gave up too easily when he or she started saying they weren't going to eat anything else. But no kid is going to starve themselves - eventually they will eat what you give them.
But I agree it is REALLY hard work to get kids to eat well - and if you're also holding down a job, or are a single mum, or don't have a lot of money to spend on food, it must be tempting to just shove crap into them knowing they'll eat it quickly and without complaint rather than have a big battle over grilled chicken and salad.
But it is storing up problems for your kids later on.
