It looks like we will relent and buy our two little boys (4 + 5) a Nintendo DS this Christmas but need some advice.

Which model - the DS lite or DSI? ( I know the 3DS is not suitable).

Best place to buy......would love a deal but they need to turn up. Anyone bought off the business sellers on ebay (a look to be based in HK or China).

There is a company called PVM games selling them very cheap but almost too cheap!

All helpful advice appreciated!

I say this as someone with a 5 + 7 yr old, and thought about the same thing, but in the end went for an iPod Touch each for Xmas (I don't think they even know they exist and have asked for DS's). (I'm potentially expanding your choice rather than narrowing). The games that are ideal for young kids are generally free, and because of that you get great choice of educational apps such as sums, spelling etc. It takes HD video, if they had one each they can 'facetime' around the house on wi-fi, listen to music etc. use the internet (restricted of course). Got mine through the Apple Store for £139.

Worth thinking about as an alternative to the DS.
