Won't bore you with the details and am to old and thick to try and work it out in the time required but can anyone please tell me with inflation what would £85 from February 1988 be worth today?

Inflation since 1988 has been 107%.

In 1988, £85 could probably buy you about 100 pints of a cheaper lager.

So that looks like about 300 quid to me...
