Martin Saggers of Kent, i mean what the f*** is that about?!

They play Kabir Ali against SA, call up Glen Chapple for the squad but forget those 2 and then pick Saggers!

Cant quite work it out

Remind me, who was it that won the title?...

The Sussex players might as well have been playing tiddlywinks on the moon for all the good it's done their England chances.

Presumably the point being that they want an allrounder - neither Kabir Ali, Chapple et al are allrounders.

Think they could put Ronnie Irani in and we'd still beat Bangladesh though.

As long as Flintoff is around for Sri Lanka and West Indies then I'll be happy.

Oops, don't think Saggers is an allrounder though...... so I don't understand it either.

Presumably Kabir Ali though would benefit more being in the academy squad - is he in that??

Hmm...Chapple is supposedly an all-rounder, although he seemed to be equally useless with the bat and the ball last season.

Saggers is an all-rounder, of sorts, too.

What happened to Tucker?

Saggers an allrounder??

His top score is 61 and he's made just the one 50 in 94 innings.

Even Darren Maddy would have been a better bet, can quite understand the thought process they have taken with this selection.

At least they didnt go back to Anthony Mcgrath

But why shouldn't they have gone for Anthony McGrath. Did well, had one bad test and was dropped to bring Flintoff back. Fair enough to bring Flintoff back, but why completely discard McGrath??? It seems to be that if the choice is made regardless of whether they actually do well when picked - Hick, Ramprakash spring to mind. No f'in idea

I'm no cricket expert (although over the moon at Sussex's title) but I think Sussex players being ignored by the selectors will be to Sussex's benefit. Come next summer when whoever the hell is over here playing England the Sussex squad doesn't get depleted during key games. England or Sussex? Sussex wins everytime for me just like England or The Albion will always be The Albion.
