Help!
My DVD recorder has stopped doing anything - no display, can't power on/off, none of the buttons work, not talking to TV, can't eject disc.
I've got stuff recorded that I don't want to lose - so is it safe to pull out the plug from mains and plug back in or could this do horrid things to the disc?!
Ta for any help!

ps it's a Philips DVDR3305.

Assuming its not audibaly spinning really fast, yes, its safe

It's humming fairly quietly so don't think disc is spinning - thanks for advice.

I had excatly the same problem with the same model. I phoned up the Philips care line and they gave me a reference number and told me to take it back to the store where I bought it. Took it back to Sainsburys and got an instant refund. Took the cash to Currys and bought a Goodmans for £40 less.

Booked it, packed it, f***ed off!

Unplugging from the mains has fixed it - my previous recordings are all there too! :)

This model is definitely dodgy - and slow.
