I have tried to get into our chat room and then tonight I have tried to get into a Yahoo chat room

The applet is not loading for some reason. I have been into tools, internet options etc and security settings and Java is enabled ok.

I haven't changed any settings from when I got into our chat room previously but all of a sudden it isn't loading.

Has anyone any suggestions (preferabley sensible ones  )

Have you tried rebooting, sometimes problems can occur in the set up that are fixed by switching off and switching on again.

That's a typical IT solution :lolol:

I will try it because I have only just downloaded Yahoo Messenger but I have had problems with our chat room for a couple of weeks now

IT professional here - A lot of these problems are solved by making sure you've got the latest version of Internet Explorer

It starts loading and then stops

Exception: java.lang ClassNotfoundException: Client.class

sounds like a download and replace Java to me.

um... "5.5" should be okay Make sure security settings are set to default (you may have already done this...!)

You'd be better off loading version 6, have you got a fast internet connection to do the update from Windows Update?

I had probs getting in a few weeks back Yorkie.
CrabtreeBHA pointed me to

http://www.java.com/en/index.jsp

I downloaded Java from there, and hey presto, it was fixed. Hope that helps - if not, Crabbers will probably know the problem. He's very techie.

That's what I have been doing and no, Beachy, it still isn't working

All I have now is a nice little logo that looks like a blue cup with red steam coming out of it but the chat still isn't working ???

Not much help but seems to be a persistent XP problem...

I've read after doing a search that its the lastest version if the Microsoft virtual machine you need rather the the Sun version...

Ah now that seems to ring a bell

In the error message there seemed to be a lot of mentioning of the Sun version
