Anyone been here?? Thinking of going next week/weekend (with teenager in tow). Is it worth it ?
Website says book in advance - does it get really busy at weekends?
Grateful for info if you've been there. Ta. :)

I went a couple of years ago and yes it was busy, if we hadn't booked in advance we wouldn't have been able to get on the tour for a few hours.

I don't want to put you off but I'm not certain that the tour would keep a teenager amused (although it may have changed since I went), I'd say the tour is more aimed at the 5-12 age group and you don't get to see the actual chocolate factory, the bits you see are all set up just for the tour (although they're done quite well).

Best bit is they give you quite a lot of free chocolate bars as you walk around and the shop at the end is packed full of all sorts of chocolate bars!

One other thing, I'm not certain if it is school holiday week in Birmingham next week, I'm in Cheshire and it's w/c 24/10 here.

Studied and lived in Birmingham for three years, lived just along the road from Bournville, and did sadly spend a fair few visits at Cadbury World - would well recommend the place...

Did the factory tour once - and they do hand you a fair few chocolate bars on your way through, as well as giving you a few-minutes-made glistening cube of chocolate, which is somehow worth the entrance fee (sad though it may seem...)

But I think I got more value out of the shop, which is open to people without having to pay an entrance fee... Plenty of discounts on Cadbury bars, plus items you can't buy in usual shops such as strange Wispa flavours/box-sets/99p thick chocolate bears, etc etc etc...

Tended to be asked by various family members, especially when Christmas was approaching, to pop into the place and stock up on various stocking-filla chocolate selections...
Which I always enjoyed doing, especially since the simple scent of the place was enjoyable itself...

Am also admiring of the Bournville family approach to the area and their looking-after of their local workforce... Long live the Cadbury Village...
Bostin'....

I've been to where they make it, Bourneville, has a nicer smell than Runcorn I admit.

I wasnt being sarcastic or anything, i did actually go there a few years ago and the "free" was because everyone gets excited at the free chocolate but thats basically what you pay for with your entrance fee
:p
