I've decided that it's taking far too long to read everyone's whinges about Steve Coppell, and so would like to invest in broadband.

Who's got it already? Any advice/recommendations? Do they all work ok with the PS2? - need to be ready when ISS Pro Evo bring out an online version!!

Ta for help in advance.

To use the ps2 Broadband you have to have a 512 Bband connection or higher!Good luck it's soooooooooo much easier!:clap2:

Would BT meet that 512 threshold? I'm assuming they should be one of the market leaders as they supply all the phone lines anyway?

swaying towards BT i must say.. they make a big point of being compatible with the PS2, which seems like a big bonus. I was put off a few months back when I saw their prices, but it seems everyone's charging about £27 a month now. I pay £16 already wiht a 56k modem.

I can highly recommend ntl 600kb broadband. BT are only making a big thing on the PS2 as they were slated initially for making it so hard to use their internet with it. I also remember reading in a PS2 magazine recently that you need to buy/use an extra adapter for bt, not too sure on the details, I'll have a look for the article. From all the stuff I have seen on the matter ntl is the cheapest at £25 a month for the fastest connection.

I know nothing about techy things but hey - it doesn't stop me having an opinion.

I am on BT broadband. It works fine mostly. If if doesn't I unplug the box with the flashing lights and then plug it back in again. Then turn round and bow down facing Mecca,

With BT broadband, Paul Camillin no longer gurns at me on Seagulls World.

However it takes mere seconds to see Britney showing her suntan marks. :(

I wouldn't waste your money.

Tried Freeserve - failed then BT failed back on Freeserve steam and pistons "anytime" and it suits me.

Pipex is the cheapest.

Correct they are by a mile.

I totally lost confidence in the whole broadband thing.

Cost me two weeks away from NSC, had to catch up on my post count, then this guy Turkey started to tinker...............

I've got Pipex. Had a few probs but found out it was down to my BT Connection. Good value for £23 per month.

A friend at work is leaving BT Broadband. Apparently they are hooking up with Yahoo and you won't be able to use Internet Explorer. Don't know if it's true but I would not like to be told which browser I can use.

Freeserve BB here...not had a days problem with it (however don't know if they do a PS2 modem or not) :clap2:

If you want to use a PS2 or XBOX and can get NTL then I would suggest them. Have no experience of them as I use BT who are fine but cable broadband gives you an ethernet connection whereas ADSL gives you a USB connection. You need Ethernet to use the PS2 or XBOX online which means an outlay of about £80-100 for an ADSL Ethernet Modem/Router if you're not on cable.
