there's actually some really nice beaches in the north east

the weather is only good enough to spend any time on them for about 3 hours a years but they're still nice

I think St Ives has one of the best UK beaches, a lot of the little hidden coves in Cornwall are stunning.

I've never understood the fascination with sandy beaches, whenever I've been to one I've ended up with sand in my eyes, food, car, etc. Give me peals every time.
