Who's Next?
Once upon a time, I used to design The Brighton Source magazine, the monthly what's on guide. (Is it still going? Haven't seen it for a while.) On the back page was always the pictures from out and about in the clubs in town.
About four years ago, we put one of the issues out, and about three or four days later we had a couple of phone calls asking for more copies. We couldn't oblige as they had all gone out. The next day, about 10 calls came in asking for more, and the day after, about 20 calls came in. Naturally, we were delighted that venues wanted more copies, but we were curious as to why so many wanted more of this particular issue.
Then someone told us. We hadn't spotted it. One of the girls posing on the back page was hugging her friend, with one leg kicked up in the air, wearing a VERY short skirt - and no knickers. You could see what she had had for breakfast.
Black mark for the editors, quality publicity for the mag...
