Are you or your littluns going to get it printed then on your shirts?

I reckon you ought to negotiate a discount anyhow.

This is a quite BRILLIANT idea (even if "Wardy" only plays for as long as Maheta Molango.) Top marks all round. The bloke's going to wonder what's hit him if the old songs get going again.

I'm a grown up, so names on shirts is a no-no.

My 8 yr old has 'Cox 28' on his home shirt, but they each have a blank away shirt. My 6 yr old is so tiny that he couldn't have 28 as his shirt is not wide enough for 2 numbers [true!], so 'Ward 8' is a real possibility.

Will need to see him play once first though!!

Until I have seen otherwise, Nick Wards name should not even be mentioned in the same sentence as Peters. Let alone giving him the number 8 jersey, singing songs about him, and calling him a legend.

Lets wait and see if he is even good enough to clean Peter Wards boots eh?

Hello Phil

You are TOTALLY missing the point here.

The excitement about having somebody running out in the stripes with 'Ward 8' on his shirt, is a massive compliment to Peter Ward, rather than belittling his legacy.

If we all sing the old songs, using the arrival of the new lad as a catalyst, it is still in homage to Wardy's legacy, and all those great memories.

That's all.

mmm,, oh, er, um, OK I'll give it a whirl. I hope he has had this explained to him otherwise he is going to be very confused when the J Block start singing

"He Shot, He Scored, it must be Nicky Ward".

But I'm not singing any songs on Saturday, I sit in G Block for goodness sake, there are people trying to sleep dontcha know.
