NSCs Top 10 most irritating…

Got something to say or just want fewer pesky ads? Join us... 😊

Ok pop pickers…

It’s a new entry at 10: People who DO THIS to EMPHASISE their POINT during yet another PREDICTABLE ATTACK on the CLUB.

In at 9: the Dear Dick or Micky fraternity.

It’s a non mover at 8: with the moan, moan, rant, argue and swear at the club brigade sounding off to a suspicious rubbing sound.

Down at 7: It’s that olde favourite of mine: the comedy wannabe… the one liner thread savour, borne from undoubted genius, behold the eradicator of frustration… worry not he’ll put a smile on his face.

At 6: the post count brotherhood, yes it’s the 20k+ … hmmmmmmmmmmm how? Some kind of time and space vortex? Hmmmmmmmmm.

In at 5: the attack of the smiley… awesome, some kind of primitive communication method usually reserved for exclusive usage by children.

It’s still at 4: the amateur psycho analysts, yep it’s the “I’ve sussed you” and behold as I cunningly display my undeniable intelligence by offering a detailed psycho analysis of your deep seated anxieties blah blah etc. Jesus wept.

At 3: People who can’t handle the truth: NSC has no power over anything, your opinions regarding the club/players/board are not going to change anything, your point of view is pointless, and the things you say are in effect meaningless.

And…

At 2 for 10 years now it’s the: “my dad’s, cousins, cucumber salesman’s, boyfriends French lover has reliably informed me that the club are going…” I can honestly say I can’t recall one “out there rumour” ever turning out to be true. It’s all total bollocks.

And yes it’s still at number 1:

It’s the…

Freedom of speech vs. the Orwellian control argument.

Freedom of speech is one thing, but this:

Micky Adams errrmmmm sorry ahem MICKEY ADAMS IS A **** is the most disgusting excuse for speech I’ve ever witnessed.

These are the cretins who should be sterilised and set to work as accountants for an eternity.

Another thing I’ve missed that irritates me is this:

“That is all.”

Kosh

I await the 1-10 follow ups to this post… oh the comedy, oh the swearing, oh but oh let the psycho analysis begin… But please I beg of try, just once for me, not to state the obvious. (please see responses by Nibble, he's a Hamster in my wheel. Nibble.)

Whoops I’ve just realised… I’ve effectively psycho analysed the board as a whole… dear oh dear… I think I need to re-read number 3.

That is all. Cringe, vomit…

Oh and polls just missed out.

That really is all.

Oh wait....

:banana::stupid::tumble::unclesam::shutup::dance::guitar::salute::nono::angel:

How much have we been charged for this information?

NMH,

Sorry to go way off topic here but:

I reckon a man of your eclectic music tastes will have a decent separates system to enjoy everything from Prog to Dub, no? I'm currently thinking of getting myself out of my techniques (midi) era and spending a few bob on a new system... Any recommendations from your good self would be much appreciated, unfortunately though, money is a wee bit tight so it'll have to way in at below £1500 for CD, Amp, TT and Speakers.

Cheers brother.

Rock and Roll.

A post worthy of Shakespeare.
How do you cut to the quick with such unnerving accuracy, you utter f***ing ponce?

(p.s. one for the mods there!)
Oh hello NMH. I was just wondering why only about 3 people wished you happy birthday on your recent birthday thread.

I hope I'm like you when I'm in my mid 50s. *snigger*

You know, I've often wondered when looking to the stars on a clear night... what lies in the blackness in-between those far off tiny points of twinkling light...

and now I see...

Here lies Simster, where angels fear to tread...

It's funny though, you see, I find my eyes are ever drawn to those points of light, so few in the blackness above, yet so bright...

Travellin' in the dark,
Can't see a thing, Travellin' in the dark.

What you gonna do when you can't seem to understand?
What's goin' on in the mind of another man?

Since you are a fan of retro sounds, Kosh, I would strongly suggest you invest in a proper original sound system.... incorporating a valve amp.
'Mackintosh' are well known with many audiophiles, but I like 'Quad' myself (no, nothing to do with quadraphonic sound separation).
I have a Quad 44 amplifier, that isn't valve, but is rather good. The only problem is the 5-pin plugs I need to adapt to for everything that goes into the amp.
Garrard always were a good turntable manufacturer, and I used to have one of theirs. Now I use a Rega Planar, but there's no autochange on it, it's all manual. You can get a good Technics TT and be happy, or Dual make good ones.
CD players are much of a muchness for me, I have a fairly old Denon 20bit 8x oversampling machine. I never saw much use in having more than one tray, and I'd advise getting an unfussy one with the highest bit number.
The speakers are normally the part you need to examine closely, and maybe spend the most on. I like my Mordent Short pair. KEFS are a great speaker, but I'd advocate going for a reasonably high-end set rather than either a lower-range one (don't spend loads on 'hybrid' styles of technology, unless you hear it first and love it). Bose and Boston Acoustics (aka Boston Sound Labs) and Klipsch seem good makes.

In my experience of stack systems made-to-match by single companies, I've heard nice Yamaha systems - just beware of buying stuff for the looks of it, you need the functions to work for you and not have hundreds of buttons - or alternatively so few options that you lose flexibility (in other words, just bass and treble tuners and little else).

Changing and upgrading your system can often be like re-discovering your music collection all over again.

Who cares, I don't thrive on how many people I have never met wish me "happy birthday" like some little teeny-brained bimbo (i.e you).

"I hope I'm like you when I'm in my mid 50s. *snigger*"

Is it already a bit late for you to... er.... grow the f*** up?

Cheers bro! some useful, informative and knowledgeable (as ever!) stuff there... I can't wait to get it together and finally sample a bit of Captain Beyond et al. as the Gods of rock intended.
Yep I agree with the KEF idea, I was probably going to go for the iQ5SE.
I was heading for Pioneer for the amp/cd components, (A-A6/PD-D6-J) as my dad used to have a great one back in the 80s... the bass was awesome! I’ll check out the other manufactures you recommend and see if I like what I “hear.” It may boil down to cost though, so we'll see.
Turntable wise, defo going to check out what you recommend… as therein you undeniably know your shit.

Rock and Roll.

Here's one for the road...

P.S. Happy birthday, NMH. I bet the party was CRACKERJACK. :bigwave:

You have parties??

How fashionable, and I bet people give you polo shirts, Guy Laroche cologne and EVERYTHING :tosser:

Believe it or not Dimster, 99.9% of my friends do not post on North Stand Chat.
Many of them are (gasp) foreign, are female, are not particularly interested in Brighton and Hove Albion really - and when they are, they don't bother posting on here either.

You must have a life other than what NSC represents for you, surely?
Okay, maybe not!
