Yes,at last another exciting dawn for the Albion, and it is great news.

But daft as some of them may seem, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

But,well,............read below.

Well I disagree! I don't think there's BEEN much moaning! Well, certainly no more than usual and probably a good deal less. In fact I would even go as far as to say that NSC, always a bit of a beargarden, is the most united it's been for a long time.

There HAVE been a couple of slightly torturous debates about what 'secured funding' meant with regard to Falmer ("I was right!", "No, I was right!"), there have been a couple of people lamenting the fact that the 'one person should never control club' rule has gone and a few more have wondered openly what sort of Chairman Tony Bloom will make - and what happens when the loans become due. I'm sorry, but virtually none of that can be classed as 'moaning' unless you're the sort of person who cannot stand to read or listen to something that doesn't 100% match your views. And also since the announcement the comments about DK have been nearly 100% positive, nearly all of them praising what he's done since 1997. Finally ALL the 'moaners' are united in the fact that they welcome Bloom's investment and are excited about the future.

So a big :p to all those who've agreed with Diffbrook!

As a recent contributor I think there always has to be a balance between those that look at everything through the eyes of a fanatic (of whatever club) and those to whom football is an enjoyable -but not fundamental- part of their life.

I am a supporter of the concept of a League club in Brighton, but I'm not an Albion supporter. I'm not going to change my life-long allegiance to another club, though I recognise that BHAFC fans can expect those living locally to support Albion.

It's tempting to look at the Club's problems and opportunities in isolation, but other clubs too have risen and foundered. Can you imagine, for instance, being an Oxford United fan over the last fifty-odd years? I personally have taken a deep interest in the whole decision-making process about Falmer, and I think it's still not a done deal. Oxford had a half-built stadium for years simply because the wrong type of people (well, the Maxwell family basically) got involved with the club.

The danger when the club is solely funded by one individual or family is that the club's fiuture rests on the status of that one person. Therefore you cannot blame people for wondering about Tony Bloom. I hope he's genuine.

I agree with Brovian - I actually think that, given the seismic nature of what was announced compared to what prompts the usual summer squabbles, there's been very little binfesting. Maybe everyone's still a bit stunned.

There has, unfortunately, been very little in the way of BINFESTERY recently. I blame the newbies. How am I going to pass my working days over the summer now?

What I have noticed is that those that constantly whinged about Dick Knight and the club almost always fall into the unqualified joy camp.

Make of that what you will.

I think thats because Bloom seems to have a pot he can piss in, unlike DK.

Who is actually moaning? Can we have names, or is it just people who are questioning things that they don't quite understand? There is a difference isn't there? I don't recall seeing a single "oh no I can't believe this shit is happening to us" post.
Agreed. I can't think of one person who hasn't thought this was one of the best things that's ever happened to us, the only debate is about the degree of 'best-ness', i.e. some are 100% happy others a bit less - but all are happy. Likewise even DK's critics - and I've been one - all acknowledge the tremendous debt we owe him for saving the club.

If there'd been even a handful of threads saying "It's not enough, he should have given us more. Why didn't we sell the club to Gold when we had the chance?" I could understand Diffbrook's point.

That bit's not entirely true-you only have to look at the bile spewing from Ernest this week. Wind up merchant or not, his constant stream of puerile crap makes this board an unpleasant place sometimes and this week he didn't have the sense or grace to keep his childish comments to himself.

As for the numerous "Dick Waggling" contests that are still on-going, they are amusing. So many looking for the biggest "I was right about [insert moment here].

I'm delighted that we as a club now have a secure future and I'm also grateful to Dick Knight for his efforts over the years. A few mistakes here and there can be forgiven (by all bar a couple of people) because no other bugger wanted to step in when we destitute (12 years or so) until Tony Bloom started flashing the cash in recent years.

It's a great time to be an Albion fan. Enjoy it because it's been a hell of a long time coming.

Totally agree. The club is arguably now more solvent than it has been at any time in it's history, and yet people still raise doubts and concerns. Flippin unbelievable.

We have 100% got the stadium, the future is rosy. Just smile and enjoy it.

Also the poll on who is happy about the new ownership is almost 100%. Probably the first poll I have seen NSC users almost completely agree on!!

Yes, in my earlier post I did say 'nearly 100%' and the second time I missed out the 'nearly'. Ernest has of course been the exception to the 'Thanks a lot Mr Knight' rule and even by his standards he's been a bit excessive. But even taking his regurgitated bile into account I don't think there's any evidence of real 'moaning', certainly not enough to warrant a thread moaning about it!

So does that mean you are now moaning about the poster that is moaning that there is too much moaning? or something like?

Yes. I'm moaning at the people who are moaning about the moaning - when there isn't any moaning to moan about! Doubtless someone will moan at me for moaning at the moaners who are moaning about the non-existent moaning - but I shan't moan about it.
