Er, at the risk of stating the bleeding obvious, it IS actually possible to win money at the dogs. The Argus might not be any use for anything else, but its dog tips are usually spot-on. Their NAP (i.e. best bet of the night) and NB (i.e. Next Best bet of the night) come in more often than not, which should offset some of the costs. You might even end up in profit. And you don't even have to buy the Argus cos their tips are printed in the (free) racecard. Which is nice.

The argus tips arent printed in the racecard anymore unfortunately this though is rumoured to be because they were winning the punters too much cash.

Chez's Tip - READ THE ARGUS, just this once.

Ah, right, good point, didn't know that. Not been to the dogs for a while. Will post the Argus's tips on this thread Thursday morning then.

Way out West
Can someone put in a good word for ole Balloonboy and the Loftus Road event? Can't make the meet, so someone needs to spread the word in advance of Saturday. Not too complicated:

- Balloons (Blue, White or Yellow)
- Yellow Pages
- Anything else you can think of to rip up and throw about

Cheers.

Oh, and where's the Giant Flag?

Shall we say 6:30 onwards in the Hove Park Tavern for those that wish to have a swift half first?

And for those that dont shall we say about 7:15 just outside the entrance or somewhere inside?

That sounds like a plan.

Meet in the Hove Park Tavern. I'll be getting there about 7ish.

Need to get enough of us together to sort out the free tickets.

Who can actually make it to the pub?
