What's an Oyster card? Saw a coupon to get one for free but don't know why I would want one?

Pretty certain a combined season is cheaper - seems what most people have.

Whereabouts in London do you need to travel to? It might be worth getting a season ticket to "London terminals" (i.e. London Bridge). You can then change at London Bridge and travel to Cannon Street or Blackfriars at no extra cost and you won't have paid for tube travel.

If you are in the city, there is a good chance that Cannon street in particular is within 5-10 mins walk of your office. And at rush hour, London Bridge to Cannon Street services arrive every 3 or 4 minutes.

london railcard plus tube will be cheaper than oyster, i'm pretty certain

Agreed. I go out to Docklands most days and it's definitely cheaper to combine the tube with your rail ticket.

I think I'll do the combined season ticket. After my three month probation the company pay a year up front for me anyway.

Another hater of STH becomes one. No wonder there's no atmosphere on the tube these days.

An Oyster season only makes sense if you live within the six zones. After that you might as well just have a season as it's only one card to leave at home.
