It would be a bit dull playing for midtable every season and playing dull football. Football is dull when the best you can hope for your team is a midtable finish. I would rather a relagation scrap than doing a Bolton or a Stoke or a Blackburn.
I like most of your posts, but this is shite. I could take at least a decade of watching a midtable Premiership side at the Amex before I got remotely bored, primarily because from that springboard it is always possible to WIN trophies like the league cup or the FA Cup.

I'm with Simster here. Stoke were able to put out a near full strength team on Saturday precisely because they are mid table. They are now two games away from the FA Cup final as a result.

If you go through your memory banks as an Albion fan, the matches against Newcastle, Citeh, Liverpool, Norwich, Sheffield Wednesday and United DO stand out from 1983, far more than the recent 0-0 draw at Orient and defeat at Bournemouth.

wouldn't be surprised if stoke or everton win the cup........the only chance they've got of glory as opposed to the BIG GUNS,obviously why they had a full strength team on the park as opposed to man u and arsenal, can't help wondering how we would have gone against that man u side, oh well onwards and upwards i say. and sorry , but i don't see how you can call stoke dull , effective yes,not dull.....don't you think the fact that they like to hoof it up may be linked to their 6 ft 6/7 in centre forwards.......perhaps..???
