Stanly Deason surface is OK SN, and it is a good place for five aside. Also what are you setting up here i think i may have missed a post or two !!!

Pardon ?

All the discussion took place on the other Portslade 5-a-side thread.

papa lazarou seems to be the one organising just we cant agree on a place to play so i said i'd do a poll for him

I reckon portslade. I know its late and its indoor but it might be worth a crack.

Should get a good turnout, theres no way people will turn up on a friday at SD and Worthing etc is too far away.

To be honest, we are better playing indoors in the warm than outdoors on a concrete tennis court with broken goals in lancing.

Just book it, see what the turnout is like. Oh go on.

This poll hasnt really helped has it?

all its done is eliminate two places, so come on people get voting.

Maybe an additional poll asking whether people would turn up for a game when the venues decided?

I am - the bloke at Portslade said he might have a regular Friday outdoor slot available, but he's not rung me back yet, so I can't say it's a definite just yet. As people were willing to go to SD on a Friday, I guess Friday at the gold old faithful Portslade would be acceptable..

there's always Saturday for drinking !

anyway - as things stans it's neck and neck between Portslade indoor, and Worthing on the astroturf.

spoke to the chap at Portslade...

He can do us a month of indoors at 9pm. However with some of these clashing with Albion matches..

Tues 9/9 - clear
Tues 16/9 - Chesterfield home
Tues 23/9 - Middlesborough away
Tues 30/9 - Rushden away
Tues 7/10 - clear

So, even if we went for Portslade (indoor) we'll only be able to do 2 our of the available 5 slots. Also the cost of indoor is a staggering £32.00 per hour, and I personally am not going to underwrite that sort of outlay without assurances that at least 10 people will turn up.

Anyway - the alternative (if people vote for Portslade) is Friday night - there is an 9pm slot avaialble for the whole season. Now to book this on a week by week basis costs £27.50, BUT if you book it for the entire season it's £24 per week (less VAT).

Therefore, the Portslade option is still there, but not in the same form as we originally thought.
