NOW will people stop going on about Pethick playing right-back?

I know strictly speaking he was still playing centre-half when Watson went off, but yesterday proved beyond any shadow of a doubt that Robbie must NEVER play right-back. Constantly getting turned by their number 33, (I know, Watson was as well), and when he did get the ball it was the same old thing: lump the thing as far upfield as possible and let their defenders gobble it up. As frustrating as Watto can be, he really is our only option currently for that position.

Don't get me wrong, at centre-half he's more than comfortable, arguabley better than Hinshelwood. And he's a top bloke as well, having spoken to him at length at a party last weekend. BUT, the people who are still clamouring for him to replace Watson must either have very short memories or have never seen him play there, instead just jumping on the anti-Watson bandwagon.

I agree - Pethick was doing OK at centre half yesterday but when he went to right back, it all went horribly wrong. He seemed to panic whenever the ball came near him.

When Kanchelskis signs stick OGH at right back. He's got pace so he won't get skinned and is a quality tackler.

I've lon thought that Hart would make a decent right back. That's what we did with Crumplin, convert him from winger right back (although the Football Genius was crap as a winger).

The only problem with OGH as a full back is that he does have a tendency to make reckless tackles: I can see a few red cars heading his way.

I think OGH would make a good right wing-back. He's not defensively minded enough to be a right-back IMHO. If we do start struggling (nows not the time to make panic decisions), then 3-5-2 with Kanchelskis in the hole would rock!

Against Reading last season (the game on tv) OGH had to play at rightback position after we had to reshuffle the pack and was absolutely outstanding.

He would be brilliant in this position.
