Why should Forest want to sell their best player to buy other inferior players wouldnt it make more sense to trim the squad of players that dont make the first team to Div 1 or 2 sides to raise cash and then build around your best players.

Is £1.5m enough to buy a lot of players at this level these days? Even three players at 500k, you've only freed one person's wages. Unless he is paid the equivalent wage as that which you'd pay three 500k players. Can we afford that?
