I'm really impressed by the way the French have dealt with this. Right from the beginning. And perhaps Macron could get some credit? We'd still be arguing about who pays for the rebuild, and planning permission and listed building consent and the health and safety plan.

It'll take longer for BHCC to get the hotel on the seafront rebuilt. To be fair that will probably be down to the dodgy landowners.

Friends of mine were in Paris on Sunday, but the queues were so long, they didn't try to go in. No doubt, it will calm down in years to come but I should imagine it is one of the most popular tourist destinations for at least a couple of years.
