The difference of eleven spectators was because yesterday they included the Norwich XI on the pitch, who did more watching than playing.

:lolol:

Can anyone explain why it was a sell out, yet it wasn't a 30k+ crowd?
There was those seats either side of the Norwich fans. Is this what made the difference, or are there other reasons?

There did seem a lot of seats used to segregate the away end. Not sure way it only required 4 columns of seats on South West side and double the number on the East Stand side.

Yeah, the south side had 4 covered and a column of stewards. On the ESL side it was much larger. Looks like this was so as we had allocated E1H to Norwich but they didn't sell them all.

Also, I suspect there is some rule about how many columns of seats one can be from an exit, so would have not been possible to sell an extra 5 or 6 columns to us.

The correct answer solution would have been to give us all of S1F (we had 3/4 of it and the rest was segregation) and use 5 columns of S1E for the segregation. This would have knocked about 150 seats off the Norwich allocation (which they would have still easily accommodated) but made over 200 extra seats available for home fans.

The reason for this is that the placement of the south stand segregation yesterday meant that the whole of the upper tier thingy is the east half of S1F could not be used at all.

These things are rarely important but when it's a home sell out, home fans can't buy tickets, yet there are plenty of empties, it's a bit frustrating.

Had there been just 5 columns, the segregation area would have cost about 350 seats. But it was nearer 500 as the segregation area was double this is the ESL and the upper tier bit in the south was out of action.

Norwich did not sell out their huge allocation
Unsold seats in the hospitality areas and school shelf

The real attendance was much lower due to season ticket no shows. There was lots of empties around me in the ESL and cold see some gap too in the WSL and North. The WSU looked pretty rammed tho.

A functional facility to make unused ST available for resale yesterday, but the club just made a link available from the ticket site to make your seat available if it wasn't going to be used. They should have emailed o text the STH's and made it clear on the website.

What season ticket holder who can't make the game is going to go to the part of the website to buy a ticket? It was the most ludicrous place to promote the facility!

Many thanks. I sit in WSU, and couldn't see any gaps around me, but we were looking over seeing plenty of (presumably season-ticket no-shows) gaps in ESL, as you suggest.
