Norman Baker v Martin Perry - DYNAMITE radio...

Perry has just given Baker an absolute beasting on Hartys phone-in. Bakers assertion that the Albion "had rushed to a decision to persue Falmer, without fully consdering other sites" had Perry postively SEETHING.
As Perry rightly said, there was entensive investigation into all the other viable sites before the application was submitted, and one by one they were declared unsuitable, leaving us with the ONLY viable option - Falmer. Perry challenged Baker to back up his comments that we had "rushed" to decide on Falmer, and went on to challenge exactly WHERE Norman Baker feels we should build the stadium.

Baker, being a politician, completely ducked both questions and answered neither. He instead, rather smugly, went on to report that Prescott has backed the judgement of his inspectors 86% of the time.

I'd just like to say - WELL DONE Martin Perry. He absolutely slaughtered Baker in that debate, and I wish it had gone on longer. I KNOW Harty had callers on the line, but that debate between Perry and Baker was pure box-office, absolutely vital, and should have been allowed to continue. Oh well.

Martin Perry

Baker showed is a complete and total t~osser he really is. His ignorance was embarrsing. Perry wiped the floor with him.

Baker has no arguments, no alternatives , nothing, absolutely nothing.

I hope this convinces fans that Perry has got the heart for this club and this job. The passion he showed was creditable and he sounded on the verge of tears

Baker...typical chimp-faced politician...evades answering the key questions, and persists with his vendetta against Falmer

MP definitely won that particular sparring match...good work Martin :D

I just thought he was fighting to keep his temper in check.
The blinding ignorance and stupifying, bare-faced dismissal of the facts of this application by people like Baker and Hoile is truley something to behold. Its a real eye-opener as to the vested interests and one-tracked mindedness of people in privileged postitions, who have no interest, and no desire, to see professional football flourish in Sussex. They'd rather preserve a muddy f***ing field next to a dual carriageway, than see a stadium for the whole city to be proud of, that would benefit THOUSANDS of people right now, and MILLIONS of people over the years.

Baker quite blatantly couldn't give a flying f*** what happens to the Albion, and will disregard all reasoned argument, ignore all evidence to the contrary, to ensure we do not get that stadium.

Their selfishness is breathtaking. We CANNOT let these people win.

When Baker said " I wish Brighton & Hove Albion well and would like to help with Plan B if Falmer is turned down " I almost kicked the radio in. Infact I shouted so loudly WANKER that I fightened my Golden Retriever, Harold.

I would like to apologise to Harold for the distress caused.

It was the "86% of Prescotts decisions go in line with his inspectors recommendations" comment that had me wishing to cause him some considerable, lasting, physical harm. Especially as this was supposedly his "response" to two very direct questions from Martin Perry, which obviously answered neither.

Easy 10. Yes it was great radio, without doubt. What chances Baker loosing his seat in the next election? Very high I think.

I also commend the idea of a set of independants or a Falmer political party. Maybe premature, but this may be a useful option.

Great radio.

A self-seeking weasel juxtaposed against true passion and integrity and shown up for what he is. The letters MP will apply to Martin far longer than it will to that cvnt. We must beat him and the forces of narrow self interest that lie behind him, it is of national importance.

What a ridiculous comment... Martin Perry would walk into another job of similar standing no problem. Make no mistake, we are lucky to have someone like him on board. Everyday I am lucky enough to see first hand the time and effort Martin puts into the Albion - and has done consistenty over the past 7 years.

I have said before his appointment at the Albion ranks alongside the appointment of Micky Adams - and Micky's one of (if not the) greatest manager Albion have ever had.

Comments like that don't help at times like this. Anyway if it did come to the worse, for all at the club, the fact we'd be out of jobs would be the easiest part to swallow... the loss of the Albion would not.

Harty's comment to Baker regarding "policitcal suicide" was great too, Perry did an outstanding job and I listened in joy and anger (towards baker), great stuff

Who to?

The Tory who is as opposed to Falmer as Baker is and who supports the party that wants a waste incinerator at Newhaven (which Baker is against)?

Or Labour who got 7 per cent of the vote in Lewes consituency at the last election?

Or better still, how about Lord B standing (or sitting as he's getting on a bit :lolol: :jester: )?
