To mid table in the Championship. The question I am posing is has he hit the ceiling of his achievement with the club and does he have the tactical acumen and transfer capability to push us into the promised land of the Premier League??

What do you think NSC??

Where's that "ignore user" button, it's going to come in handy this evening.

Edit: I'm not saying it's an entirely inappropriate question (though the answer is very much "yes" in my mind), but it's a tiresome one at an unnecessary time.

Good thread i reckon. I like Gus and he should be given time. One of my ST mates thinks he has reached his ceiling with us!

Gus is the man to take us forward but he needs to find a way to win the big games cause at the moment our record against top six sides is SHOCKING. I think he always goes into these games defensively and hoping not to lose whereas if we attacked these teams they would not be able to cope with us.

His future at this club will most probably be decided by the fans.
As soon as people start getting thoroughly bored watching slow, negative football, numbers will slowly start to fall.

One thing I can guarantee you, Gus Poyet will never take BHA into the Premier League.

Spot on,,,,,a man who is afraid of losing, will normally lose as we do in the bigger games.

The thing with Gus is that should we get to the Premier League while he is here his status in the game will be vital in us attrackiing decent players. Your bog standard Spaniard or South American would rather play for Gus than Adkins for instance...

How's that for positivity!!

Give him time! Even Mullery took two years to get us out of this league! One more season at least with Gus, please - if we're still in this same placi in two years time, then, yes, it might be time to start thinking of alternatives - but not until then.

He deserves at least the rest of the season if not more, the team and club are progressing at a good rate. The one thing he needs to look at is his dealing in the transfer market which have been hit and miss and best. If I was Tony Bloom I would be reticent to give him large amounts of cash to spend based on previous dealings. I have no issues with him as a motivator or coach he just needs to be a little more consistent with his signings. It would be unrealistic to expect them all to work out but his no Steve Coppell when it comes to wheeling and dealing.

I cannot believe that people are even considering or contemplating not having Gus as our manager. Get a grip, we just lost for the first time in 8 games and that was playing 85 minutes with 10 men and our defence depleted by injury.

As he keeps stating, he has his hands tied by budgetary constraints. We can't compete financially with 10 or 11 teams in this division. It may be a case of treading water until the Dream Factory at Lancing starts turning out some quality players.

Do they? Is that the one who would like to see Wilkins back?

IMO it's a bit like the Murray situation, when he was with us, every pundit and commentator would praise him every time we were on the TV yet the know alls on NSC were insisting he was lazy and no good. Now everyone can see what we are missing,
Now, most of the football world praise Gus and what he's trying to achieve yet there is a groundswell of chumps who think we will be better without him.
If Gus was to go, I could see him going from success to success.

He will never take us up all the time he has got a hole in his arse...Unless he learns to adapt a little here and there.

changing the system is not the problem we still have to many league one players in the team.

You must weigh about 182 stone if you haven't got a hole in your arse. It could, though, be something of an explanation for the depressive gobshite you tend to expel so trollistically. Please see a doctor or an out-of-work dentist who'll drill anywhere for money.
