Brian Horton's programme notes.
Unlike Shooting Stars captain Will Self - who will always use a four-syllable word when one would be commensurate - Brian finds one he likes and uses it again, and again, and again.
In this week's issue of 'From The Dugout', the Vale boss opines:
"We were not good enough, basically. We are playing a good QPR side, Ian Holloway has done a good job there..he's got some good players...it is no good lying down, it is no good hiding."
So far, so good.
A little later on, he reasons: "Good players are now going to be tested, Liverpool are being tested at the moment, Manchester United get tested every week. We are being tested now."
Testing times indeed for Brian, but the coup de grace comes with the comparison of his squad to the England captain:
"Top players have got to work hard, David Beckham works hard.
"He works hard, but we didn't work hard on Saturday. Plymouth worked harder than us...the only way you get results is to work hard."
