complete shit we have better options. We were a man light on the bench at the weekend and have again dragged a retiree out tonight.

Totally agree - something's way not right. Just hope Gus is not going to dig his heels in if there is a personal issue with the player. Dunk is too good to not play.

Man light because we only took 16 up there which Gus admitted was a mistake. Taricco has been training and gives more options than Dunk if needed because he can play left back and right back and with Vincelot on the pitch that is important.

We were a man light because we had to bring on a substitute just before kick off and too late to name another sub when Buckley pulled up. If Dunk proves to be half as good and as reliable as Tarrico he will be a good player but at the moment Tarrico offers the best defensive cover we have from the bench. Reyes is far better and more experienced than Dunk, which is what we need at the moment.

Jeez, every professional club rests their youngsters when they first come on the scene. Its even happened to C Ronaldo, Walcott, Rooney FFS. Why is Lewis Dunk different?

Its a case of good management by Gus.

Agreed if he was rested for one game. But to rest him for more than that, when we're on such a bad run, seems a very strange decision ... he's been one of our best, most solid, players this season FFS.

I'd disagree with that

I think it's important that we don't over use Dunk. Gus sees more of the guy, and at far closer quarters than we do, so if Gus believes he needs a couple of games rest, then I don't see what we honestly think we have seen from behind our keyboards to doubt that is the correct decision.

Is he, or is he not, a better defender than Calderon, Taricco, Vincelot, Painter?
If yes .. why is he not playing? Rest him for a game then bring him back in... ee's not complicated.
If no .. I must be blind or stupid, or both.

The simple answer is no he isnt consistently. He has huge potential but not the experience of those you have mentioned. If he becomes half as good as Tarrico he will be a good player.
