No Cox tomorrow!

I had to laugh at this from the 'readers' comments' in the ArseGas following the Cox Left Behind story:

I am very disappointed. This gal may be 60 but I can still manage 90 minutes of red hot Cox action on a Saturday and will miss it tomorrow now.

At least Leon Knight backed up the fact he was a prick with talent. Cox hasn't even got that. Oh dear. Good riddance I say. We've got much more chance of getting something tomorrow with a team player than an ego who just wants to cut inside and cross into the goalie's arms. I hope he never pulls on our shirt again. MUCH rather have Robinson:clap:

If Robinson is in the starting line-up Carlisle will be delighted. A couple of solid tackles and his enthusiasm will dissipate. Jake is a talented player for 30 minutes. When has he played well for 60 - 90 minutes?

When people like you have got rid of Cox who next? Lynch? Elphick?
Good riddance to all pricks with talent is the way forward.
Sportsmen with egos and arrogance? Unbelievable.

not likely is it - elphick has what can only be described as, thus far, a superb attitude. in terms of the youth team graduates he came in with, he is head and shoulders above the rest in the first team in both ability and attitude

On the other hand, you could say he's scored twice recently and his confidence will be high. I think he's worthy of a start. If he doesn't perform, you can always take him off.

On the second point, you've got me slightly wrong. I actually don't mind talented players with egos. My main example is that, despite acknowledging he's a complete and utter dickhead, I actually like Leon Knight and really enjoyed him playing for us. My problem with Cox is that, to me, he doesn't have that sort of talent, and his performances have been dire for over a year now. It's when you combine that with the ego that I have a problem. Quality and ego = fine in my book. Average and committed = also fine. Poor performances and ego = get rid.

I must have seen you say Cox is shit on so many threads.

Let's put this to bed once and for all - he's not shit, and has not been playing badly. Please don't come back with 'he is dire', because you've said it SO many times already this week - and I think we heard you first time.

The management aren't going to get rid of him, so get used to it.

Cox and Robinson are both developing players. I hope that Robinson will move beyond being a player who can do well against tiring teams. Cox has had a mixed season BUT, if we get into anorak world and analyse this season's goals, he is involved in a high % of them.

We all need to hate somebody. Why do you choose players from the club you support? Give me Greg Stanley, Archer, Norman Baker, Sussex born Chelsea and Palace fans, John Catt, Bellotti, Lewes District Council and co. to curse.

Agreed. But some of our supporters get off on slagging off our own players.

Cox is involved in many of the goals this season (but to some extent you'd expect that from an attacking midfielder).

But with the weather predicted to be bad today, would you replace him with Jake or someone more robust?

I hope all the Cox defenders are eating their words, time for him to be loaned out then sold as he is a disruptive influence.

I'd much rather have Cox than Knight.

I disagree. To be a disruptive influence, you need to disrupt other members of the squad. I don't see that that's happened at all. The only person he's disrupted is himself.

That's different from Knight, when he went off on one, it seem to affect a few others.

I really don't see why this little episode should lead to having to get rid. If anyone knows how to manage him, it's the guy who's been his youth team manager/first team coach/manager for the last however many years.
