Nicholas soeames (MP for Mid Sussex) does not support the Flamer application. Please see reply from my e-mail below:

Thank you very much for your recent email concerning the planning application for a community stadium in Falmer.

I am sorry to have to tell you but I am afraid that I cannot support this application as I am strongly opposed to any building development in Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Yours sincerely,

Nicholas Soames

A strange man to comment on AONB. I know a young lady of easy virtue who used to work at the House of Commons. She described sleeping with him as like a chest of drawers falling on you with the key sticking out.

So I take it the reaction on here to anyone who disagrees with us is a wanker?

Pretty much, yeah.

It's more than a bit annoying when someone in a position of power will refuse to support something simply because of a classification (AONB), rather than take the case on its own merits, it suggests he isn't taking his job very seriously

I have written to Mr Soames (as he's my MP) and await a reply.

This could make my decision to vote Monster Raving Loony much easier at the next election. Or perhaps I'll just vote for the Lib Dems as they have a slim chance of evicting him from his seat.

I used to think it was cool having a buffoon for an MP, but now I realise that I was misguided.

Soames typifies everything that is wrong with Sussex politicians of a tory persuasion. They don't give a f*ck about 'normal' people and their desires/wants/needs-preferring instead to kiss the butts of the hooray Henry/Henrietta fox hunting fraternity in the hope that someday they'll get on the 'honours list'.

Fat fuckwit. Hope the Lib Dumbs take his seat at the next election.

Then it has to be our mission to ensure that the Lib Dems win the Mid Sussex seat in the next election.

Everyone who lives in Mid Sussex constituancy, forget your normal voting preferences, do it for the Albion.

And email Soames now to tell him you will be doing it.

Oh, the irony! We vote for Lib Dems in Mid Sussex and against in Lewes, based entirely on the MP's stance on Falmer

Slightly off topic, but Private Eye (not the Albion's favourite magazine I know following an anti-Falmer article) had a cartoon some while ago, called Fatty Soames at Ascot:

lard ball: "how about a spot of lunch"?

Prince Charles: "but it's only half past nine".

Classic

Not irony - just representative democracy.

Exactly, this isn't about who we want elected, it's about Falmer and the Albion.

Let's be honest, the colour of your MPs flag is hardly likely to change your way of life, they really should all be given grey flags as a matter of principal.

Soames is a fat tory tosser who's only claim to faim is being Churchill's grandson - Churchill would turn in his grave at his track record. Not really fit to be mentioned in the same breath.

This man is only an MP because he has an uncontested seat, it's tory through and through.

To be honest, I wouldn't worry about what he says, he probably won't be around for much longer. Due to his size, he is a heart-attack waiting to happen.

It might be worth someone who lives in Mid Sussex checking up on what the Lib Dems' likely candidate thinks about Falmer.

She is called Serena Tierney and her details are here

Mid Sussex Lib Dems can be contacted at info@midsussexlibdems.org.uk
